What is Spray Foam Insulation?
Adding spray foam insulation is one of the best methods to make a house more comfortable and energy-efficient. This insulation can be sprayed between studs, rafters, and other areas by professionals. The formula extends to fill in all the small slots that fiberglass insulation (batts) might be unable to.
A composite material called spray foam insulation is created when two chemicals (usually isocyanate and polyol resin) come into contact. These chemicals are brought together at the tip of a spray gun from two different hoppers or tanks that are moved by liquid or gas pressure. They react to one another when they come together and produce a foamy mixture. The foam then dries, forming a solid vapor and air barrier.
Benefits of Spray Foam Insulation
Following are the reasons why you need spray foam insulation in your home.
Excellent Coverage
Spray foam insulation expands as it is applied, and because of this it frequently offers substantially greater insulation coverage than rigid foam or fiberglass batts. The installer may aim the spray pistol into a small space, pull the trigger, and watch the foam fill the gap.
Long-lasting
Unlike batts or spray-in insulation, spray foam insulation doesn’t degrade and gathers at the bottom of a stud bay. When sprayed, this substance becomes sticky, expands, and then dries in place.
High R-Value
Unlike batt insulation or other types of insulation, spray foam insulation often provides superior insulation. It is partly caused by the foam’s ability to expand and fit into small areas and the foam’s forming cells.
Combined air and vapor barrier
Spray insulation is made of closed-cell spray foam that functions as an air and vapor barrier which is great for crawl space encapsulation. Homeowners worried about vapor, or moisture won’t need to cover the dried foam with a vapor barrier.
Spray foam insulation types
Spray foam insulation fundamentally comes in two different varieties. Both substances, expand in place, and insulate differently.
Spray Foam Insulation with Open Cells
Open-cell spray foam insulation is the first variety. Open cell insulation, as the name implies, comprises of tiny pockets. These foams have a large expansion (up to three inches per pass), yet the dried foam is still relatively flexible and soft. These devices are less damaging to the environment than their closed-cell counterparts because they typically employ water or carbon dioxide as the pushing agent.
Insulation Spray Foam with Closed Cells
Spray foam insulation that is closed-cell creates an air barrier similar to open-cell spray foam insulation. The individual cells or pockets developed within this foam are closed. Compared to open cell foam insulation, the cells in this product are significantly more tightly packed (it can improve foundation support in some cases).
Spray foam insulation that is closed-cell contains enclosed pockets, making it far more efficient against vapor and moisture. The insulation value of these confined pockets increases; one inch can provide up to R-6.5 of insulation.

Testimonials
Annette Casatelli
I received a few quotes to get the walls in my home filled in with blown in insulation. Zavza Seal was affordable and they did an excellent job.
They were very concerned with cleaning up, which I appreciated. I felt the difference in my home immediately. No more freezing cold walls. I recommend them, hands down.
Noemi Herles
Our experience with Zavza Seal was wonderful and smooth. The crew is well organized. They listen to your plans. They showed out in time. They left everything clean. They did an amazing job! I highly recommend this company.
Ellen Szuchmacher
Efficient, courteous and responsible workers. The job was quoted as being completed in 2 days but more work was required and they returned on the 3rd day and completed the job without additional charges. They reinsulated my crawlspace (not an easy job). I recommend Zavza Seal without reservation.
Michael Rutigliano
Couldn’t be more satisfied with the job Zavza Seal did. Brendan and Jake were accommodating, fair and extremely knowledgeable. Their team worked incredibly hard that day under difficult conditions and did a great job. I manage a multi-unit HOA and we will definitely be using them again.
