✅ Northwest Side Beam Reinforcement
- Installed three (3) new concrete-filled steel support columns beneath the wooden beam to reinforce and distribute the weight evenly across the structure.
- Each column was anchored to a custom-poured footing designed for high strength and durability.
✅ Southeast Side Beam Structural Reinforcement
- Installed four (4) new support columns beneath the Southeast beam.
- Reinforced 14 linear feet and 18 linear feet of beam span with steel plates, sandwiching the wood beam to eliminate flexing and increase load capacity.
✅ Concrete Column Installation Process
- Preparation:
- Used diamond blades to cut into the concrete slab for footing excavation.
- Excavated and formed new 16″ x 16″ x 16″ rebar-reinforced footings (as per Exhibit SK-1).
- Concrete Work:
- Poured fiber-reinforced concrete to improve compressive strength and prevent cracking.
- Allowed the concrete to cure for a minimum of 24 hours to ensure stability.
- Column Installation:
- Installed 4-inch diameter concrete-filled steel columns, factory-primed with rust-inhibitive paint.
- Secured with top and base steel plates fastened to both the new footing and overhead beam.
✅ Wood Beam Restoration & Steel Plate Reinforcement
- Applied GreenGuard certified stop-rot wood restorer to deteriorated wood sections.
- This treatment sealed and waterproofed the beams, preventing further cracking, moisture damage, and fungal growth.
- Stagger-drilled holes into steel plates to allow precise bolting without stressing the beam.
