Scope of Work
- Surface Preparation:
Our team thoroughly ground and steel-brushed the cinder block wall, working from the concrete floor slab up to the ceiling. This removed accumulated dirt, efflorescence, and other foreign materials that could compromise adhesion. - Masonry Repair:
We inspected and tucked and re-pointed any deteriorated masonry joints to restore their strength. Any visible cracks in the cinder block were also repaired to ensure a solid base for the waterproofing layers. - Waterproofing Application:
We applied the first layer of Basecrete waterproof cement evenly across the full length of the wall, approximately 20 linear feet.
While the Basecrete was still wet, we embedded a 4.5 oz fiberglass mesh from floor to ceiling for added reinforcement.
Finally, we applied a second layer of Basecrete waterproof cement, finishing with a smooth troweled surface to complete the repair and waterproofing.
Result
The client now has a strong, watertight cinder block foundation wall, sealed against moisture and structurally sound. The smooth finish not only improves the aesthetic of the basement but also protects against future water infiltration and efflorescence.
