Problem:

A residential property in Jamaica, Queens lacked proper insulation on the first-floor exterior walls, leading to significant energy loss, increased utility bills, and poor indoor comfort. The homeowner was also concerned about exterior noise, fire safety, and environmental impact. An insulation solution was needed to address these concerns without major structural disruption.


Solution:

Work Area: Exterior Walls – First Floor (Approx. 585 sq. ft)

To enhance the thermal performance and energy efficiency of the home, Zavza Seal proposed and completed the following scope of work:

  • We cut strategic access ports into the exterior walls to accommodate our insulation hose.
  • Using these ports, we installed dense-packed cellulose insulation with a targeted R-Value of 15, ensuring effective thermal resistance.
  • After completing the insulation process, we professionally patched and taped the access holes to restore the surface integrity.

Important Notes:

  • Sanding and painting were not included in the scope of work.
  • The cellulose insulation used is environmentally friendly, fire-resistant with a Class 1 fire rating, and designed to significantly reduce outside noise.
  • It offers strong moisture resistance and excellent sound absorbency, improving both comfort and air quality inside the home.
  • The insulation is Gold Certified, contributing to a healthier indoor environment and reducing the carbon footprint of the building.
