After setting up a dust curtain for safety, our team exposed a significant portion of the foundation wall. We discovered the issue was far more severe than initially thought. Not only was there a foundation crack allowing water to seep, but the insulation and drywall were also damaged. We proposed a full exposure of the subject area to accurately pinpoint and evaluate the foundation condition.
Our Solution: Waterproofing and Structural Repair
In April 2025, under quote number 3344, we proposed a comprehensive repair plan that included addressing the entire North-West wall and the adjoining ceiling.
1. Structural Crack Repair
Our project manager decided to use diamond blades to chase the structural crack, remove damaged materials, and expose the bare concrete. We then drilled access ports along the crack and injected epoxy and urethane formulations. In areas with larger gaps, we filled them with structural epoxy and installed non-corrosive carbon stitches to add structural integrity.
2. Full Wall Waterproofing
We applied high PSI waterproofing materials to all the suspect areas (porous concrete, improper concrete pour, hairline cracks, etc.) to prevent future water penetration. This preemptive measure was taken considering the building’s history of water-related issues.
