The Problem:
A homeowner in Lake Grove, NY contacted Zavza Seal after noticing visible cracks in a foundation wall. There were two structural cracks, one measuring about seven feet and the other about four feet. These cracks raised concerns about water intrusion and long-term structural stability.
Foundation cracks can allow groundwater to seep inside, especially during heavy rain. Over time, this can weaken the wall, cause moisture problems, and lead to costly damage if not repaired properly.
The homeowner wanted a permanent solution that would restore the strength of the foundation and prevent future leaks.
Our Solution:
Zavza Seal performed a professional structural crack injection repair designed to permanently stabilize the foundation wall and seal it against water.
Step 1: Surface Preparation
Our team thoroughly steel-brushed both cracks to remove all loose and deteriorated material. This created a clean surface so repair materials could properly bond to the foundation wall.
Step 2: Injection Port Installation
We drilled injection ports every ten inches along the full length of each crack. This spacing ensured that the repair materials could fully penetrate the cracks from top to bottom.
Step 3: Structural Epoxy Injection
High-strength structural epoxy was injected into each port. This epoxy permanently bonded the crack and restored the structural integrity of the foundation wall by effectively welding the concrete back together.
Step 4: Urethane Resin Injection
Where needed, we injected urethane resin to fill any voids behind the cracks. This step created a watertight seal and prevented moisture from entering through hidden gaps.
Step 5: Waterproofing Cement and Reinforcement
We applied a uniform layer of 6,000 PSI waterproofing cement over each crack. While the cement was still fresh, we embedded 4.5 oz reinforced fiberglass mesh to add strength and durability.
Step 6: Final Protective Layer
A second and final layer of 6,000 PSI waterproofing cement was applied to complete the repair and leave a smooth, finished surface.
The Results:
After the repair was completed, the foundation wall was fully stabilized and sealed. The cracks were permanently bonded, and water intrusion was eliminated. The homeowner gained peace of mind knowing the foundation was structurally sound and protected from future moisture problems.
This repair also helped preserve the long-term value of the home by preventing further foundation damage.
