The Problem:
The homeowner in Smithtown had a bathroom located at the back of the home with an exposed overhang area. This section was about 36 square feet and measured roughly 3 feet by 11 feet.

The Solution:
Our Zavza Seal team inspected the exposed crawl space and designed a layered insulation system to increase R value and fully seal the area.
We completed the work in the following steps:
- We installed a 2 inch rigid foam board directly over the existing plywood.
- The rigid foam board added an R value of 4 and created a solid base layer.
- We then covered the foam board with Sealtech insulation, which added an R value of 18.
- To stop all air leaks, we sealed every edge and seam using closed cell spray foam.
This combination created a strong thermal barrier and airtight seal.
The Result:
After the insulation was completed, the bathroom area became noticeably warmer and more comfortable. Cold drafts were eliminated, and the overhang crawl space was fully protected from outside air.
