Step 2: Drain Pipe and Gravel

We installed a 3 inch polyethylene slotted corrugated drainage pipe inside the trench. The pipe was surrounded with clean gravel and wrapped in filter fabric. This allows water to flow freely while keeping debris out.

Step 3: Weep Holes

We drilled weep holes through the block wall to allow trapped water inside the wall cores to drain into the new system.

Step 4: Sump Pump Connection

The drainage pipe was connected to a sump well and pump installed in the corner of the basement near the window. This ensures that collected water is safely pumped away from the home.

Step 5: Discharge Line

We installed a 1 1/2 inch discharge pipe through the foundation wall to the exterior grade level. This moves water away from the foundation.

Step 6: Dimple Drain Mat

A dimple core drain mat was fastened to the block wall 32 inches above the floor. This directs wall moisture down into the drainage trench along the entire 29 linear feet.

Step 7: Concrete Restoration

We re covered the trench using 4,000 PSI concrete and troweled it level with the existing basement floor. The finish was clean and smooth.

Step 8: Water Guard Port

We installed a water guard port to allow for easy future maintenance and system checks.

The Result:

After the installation:

• The basement wall and floor joint is now fully protected
  
• Water is directed into the drainage system instead of onto the floor
  
• The sump pump removes water safely from the home
  
• The basement is dry and ready to be finished or used for storage
