Our Solution

We began by cutting and removing sections of asphalt measuring approximately 12 feet by 12 feet in the affected locations. This allowed us to access the sinkholes and inspect the surrounding area.
Next, we excavated around the drywell to investigate its condition and identify any issues that may have contributed to the soil loss beneath the asphalt.
After completing our investigation, we rebuilt the affected areas using suitable fill materials, including soil, RCA, and gravel where needed. These materials were installed in layers and compacted thoroughly using commercial-grade equipment to create a stable foundation.
As part of the repair, we also elevated the concrete base supporting the steel grate to restore proper alignment and functionality.
Our scope of work included:
- Cutting and removing damaged asphalt sections
- Excavating around the drywell for inspection
- Investigating possible causes of soil loss and void formation
- Adding soil, RCA, and gravel as needed
- Compacting each layer with a heavy-duty commercial compactor
- Raising the concrete base of the steel grate
- Installing new asphalt to restore the surface
