Case Study: and Waterproofing in Flushing, NY
Structural foundation crack repair and waterproofing completed at a Flushing NY property.

The Problem:

A property in Flushing, NY had two structural cracks in the interior foundation wall. Each crack was approximately 4.5 feet long.

Foundation cracks can allow water to enter a building and may also affect the strength of the surrounding concrete. Because these cracks were structural, they needed more than a simple surface repair.

Zavza Seal was brought in to reinforce and waterproof both cracks.

The Solution:

Our team used a multi-step repair process designed to seal the cracks and strengthen the affected areas.

Crack Preparation

We first cleaned and chased both cracks to remove damaged and loose material. This exposed the crack and created a clean surface for the repair.

Epoxy and Urethane Injection

We drilled injection ports at approximately 6-inch intervals along each crack.

We then injected epoxy and urethane formulations through the ports. The epoxy helped reinforce the cracked concrete, while the urethane helped seal the cracks against water intrusion.

Reinforced Waterproofing

To provide additional protection, we installed 4.5-ounce reinforced fiberglass mesh over the repaired areas.

The mesh was sandwiched between two layers of 6,000 PSI waterproofing cement. This created a reinforced waterproofing layer over both structural cracks.

The Result:

The two approximately 4.5-foot structural cracks were repaired, reinforced and waterproofed.

The combination of crack injection, fiberglass reinforcement and high-strength waterproofing cement provided both structural support and protection against water intrusion.

For foundation cracks, addressing the problem early can help prevent further damage and reduce the risk of water entering the building.

Zavza Seal provides foundation crack repair and waterproofing services throughout Flushing, Queens and surrounding areas.
