The Problem
Water intrusion had damaged sections of two exterior basement walls, causing deterioration of drywall and insulation. Moisture exposure also created conditions for mold growth in the laundry room.
The garage had poor drainage, allowing water to collect on the floor during heavy rain. In addition, a damaged support column in the garage was no longer providing the level of structural support needed for long-term stability.
Several wall surfaces, trim sections, and floor finishes throughout the affected areas also required repair and restoration.

Basement Wall Waterproofing and Reconstruction
We removed the damaged drywall from two exterior walls and cleaned the exposed foundation surfaces. To stop future moisture penetration, we applied a 6,000 PSI waterproofing cement coating directly to the foundation walls.
After waterproofing was completed, we rebuilt the wall system using pressure-treated framing, new 2×4 studs, and R13 fiberglass insulation. New drywall was installed, taped, compounded, sanded, and painted to restore a finished appearance.
Garage Drainage Improvement
To eliminate standing water issues, we installed a new garage floor drywell system. Our crew cut into the concrete floor, excavated a drainage pit, installed compacted gravel, and placed a stormwater pit drain with a galvanized steel grate.
This new drainage system allows water to flow away from the garage floor and helps reduce future moisture problems.
Structural Column Replacement
The existing damaged column was removed and replaced with a new concrete-filled steel support column installed on the existing footing.
Steel plates were secured at the top and bottom of the column to create a strong and permanent structural support system. After installation, the surrounding concrete floor was repaired and finished flush with the existing garage slab.
Laundry Room Mold Remediation and Restoration
The laundry room showed signs of previous moisture exposure and mold growth. We removed damaged materials, cleaned affected surfaces, and applied mold treatment and preventive products throughout the area.
A liquid vapor barrier was applied to exposed foundation surfaces before installing mold-resistant drywall. Additional damaged drywall sections were replaced, gaps and defects were repaired, and missing soffit sections were reconstructed.
We also treated wall base areas, installed mold-resistant underlayment, reinstalled flooring supplied by the homeowner, and completed the project with new wood baseboard trim.
The Result
The homeowner now has a dry, waterproofed basement, improved garage drainage, a permanent structural support system, and a restored laundry room free from visible mold damage.
