Town/Neighborhood: Farmingdale
Borough/County: Nassau County
Construction Type: Residential
Category: Foundation Repair, Foundation Wall Restoration
Problem:
The homeowner discovered persistent water intrusion at the corner of a basement window. Previous patching attempts failed, and the crack allowed both moisture and potential structural weakening to occur. The affected area required a permanent repair that would stabilize the wall and ensure complete waterproofing.
Solution:
Work Area A: Basement Window Corner Crack (approx. 8 linear feet)
We began by grinding off all existing patching material to expose the bare concrete. The entire length of the crack was cut open, and injection ports were drilled every 6 inches vertically from top to bottom. We injected epoxy resin into each port, filling the crack completely to stabilize the structure and prevent further water penetration.
Once the crack was sealed, we applied a mesh-reinforced strip of Basecrete waterproof cement over the repaired area for added durability and long-term moisture protection. This created a seamless, watertight barrier capable of withstanding future environmental stress.
Note: The homeowner relocated the existing panel board before repairs began and reinstalled it upon completion.
Conclusion and Call to Action
This Farmingdale project eliminated a long-standing water intrusion problem while reinforcing the structural integrity of the basement wall. Our combination of epoxy injection and Basecrete application provided both a structural and waterproofing solution that will protect the home for years to come.
