The Problem

During a site evaluation, our team discovered that the existing footing beneath the foundation wall was deteriorated and no longer structurally sound. Over time, this could result in:

Our Solution

Zavza Seal developed a plan to rebuild and reinforce the foundation footing using high-strength concrete, precision rebar installation, and advanced formwork.

Step-by-Step Execution:

1. Sawcut and Excavation
   
   • Sawcut an additional 16 inches to expand access along the damaged footing area.
     
   • Excavated approximately 12 inches deep by 26 inches wide to expose the base of the existing footing.
     
2. Steel Reinforcement
   
   • Drilled holes into the footing every 12 inches to secure steel dowels.
     
   • Installed #5 rebars spaced every 12 inches along the entire 80-foot stretch.
     
   • Tied rebars directly into the steel dowels for continuous structural integration.
     
3. Formwork and Concrete Pour
   
   • Constructed lumber forms to shape the new reinforced footing.
     
   • Poured 4,000 PSI high-strength concrete, forming a new footing 8 inches deep by 6 inches wide.
     
   • Allowed sufficient cure time to ensure optimal strength and stability.
