Step-by-Step Process
- Pit Demolition and Enlargement
We jackhammered the side of the existing sump pit, carefully demolishing the concrete and removing all debris to make way for a larger system. - Framing and Pouring the New Pit
Concrete forms were installed to frame a new 14″ x 24″ sump pit, properly sized to accommodate two sump pumps. We poured and finished the concrete to create a stable, durable basin. - Excavation and Gravel Bed Installation
We excavated an additional 6 inches below the pit and installed a 6-inch gravel bed to aid in drainage and provide a solid base for the sump system. - Duplex Sump Pump System Installation
The homeowner supplied the duplex sump pump, battery backup, battery stand, and other required components. Zavza Seal installed the full system, ensuring both primary and backup pumps were securely positioned and operational. - Plumbing and Electrical Integration
All necessary plumbing connections were installed to direct water efficiently out of the home. We connected the system to an existing electrical outlet as provided by the homeowner. - Custom Pit Cover Installation
To complete the project, we fabricated and installed a custom wooden matrix cover that matched the original aesthetic but was sized to cover the expanded pit.
