Foundation Repair and Structural Crack Restoration in Port Washington, NY

Town/Neighborhood: Port Washington
Borough/County: Nassau County
Construction Type: Residential
Category: Foundation Repair, Foundation Wall Restoration

Problem

The homeowner noticed signs of water intrusion and structural instability in multiple areas of the basement. One section of the concrete foundation wall near the staircase had visible water penetration, while cracks behind the electric box and a long horizontal crack along one wall posed serious risks to the home’s structural integrity. Immediate action was required to restore the stability of the foundation and prevent further damage.

Solution

Work Area A: Compromised Concrete Foundation Wall Near Staircase
We began by identifying the exact location of water penetration. Using diamond blades, we ground the affected area within a 2-foot radius from the penetration point. We then installed 4.5 oz reinforced fibermesh between layers of 7,000 PSI waterproofing cement. Adhesives and sealants were applied as needed to ensure a watertight seal and lasting protection.

Work Area B: Structural Crack Behind Electric Box (Approx. 6 Linear Feet)
We temporarily removed the electric box to gain full access to the damaged section. The crack was chased and access ports were drilled. We injected epoxy and urethane formulations to fill and seal the crack internally. A 4.5 oz reinforced fiberglass mesh was installed between two layers of waterproofing cement, followed by the application of adhesives and sealants as needed. Once complete, the electric box was safely reinstalled.

Work Area C: Horizontal Structural Crack (Approx. 15 Linear Feet)
The horizontal crack was chased, drilled, and injected with a specialized epoxy and urethane combination to restore structural strength. Similar to Work Area B, we applied 4.5 oz reinforced fiberglass mesh sandwiched by two layers of waterproofing cement, with adhesives and sealants used where necessary.

Results

The repaired foundation walls are now structurally reinforced, watertight, and protected from future water intrusion. By addressing both visible and hidden damage, we ensured long-term stability and durability for the homeowner’s property.
