The Problem:
A homeowner in Rockville Centre, NY was dealing with water entering the basement.
The water was coming through an area of the foundation wall near the basement stairwell. To address the problem, the affected area needed to be treated from both the exterior and interior.
The goal was to seal the foundation and help prevent more water from entering the basement.
The Solution:
Zavza Seal worked on both sides of the foundation wall to address the water intrusion.
Exterior Foundation Waterproofing
Outside the home, our team located the foundation area that lined up with the interior water penetration.
We waterproofed the foundation joint and treated other areas of the wall as needed.
Some pavers may have needed to be removed to reach the foundation. When required, they were placed back in their original location after the work was completed.
Interior Basement Waterproofing
Inside the basement, we focused on the wall at the bottom of the stairs.
Our team ground an area approximately 24 inches wide by 4 feet long to prepare the concrete surface.
We then applied Intercept as the first layer of waterproofing. Intercept penetrates into the concrete and helps seal small spaces within the material.
After allowing the Intercept to dry for one to two days, we applied Basecrete waterproofing cement over the treated area.
The Basecrete was also allowed to dry before the final step.
Once the waterproofing work was complete, the customer-provided paint was applied to match the rest of the basement wall.
The Result:
The affected foundation area received waterproofing from both the exterior and interior.
The exterior work helped seal the foundation joint where water was entering, while the interior treatment added another layer of protection at the basement stairwell.
The repaired section was then painted to blend with the existing basement wall.
