Project Overview
A homeowner in East Hampton, NY was building a new pool house and wanted flooring that would look beautiful, withstand heavy use, and complement the style of the property. The goal was to create a clean, modern appearance while providing a durable surface that could handle moisture, foot traffic, and everyday wear around the pool area.
The team at Zavza Seal was hired to install and polish two new concrete slabs that would serve as the finished flooring for the pool house and its bathroom.
The Problem
Pool houses and outdoor living spaces require flooring that can stand up to changing weather conditions, moisture, and frequent use. The homeowner wanted a floor that was attractive, easy to maintain, and strong enough to last for many years.
They also wanted the new floors to blend as closely as possible with existing finishes on the property. Because some of the existing floors had been installed years earlier, achieving an exact match was not possible, but the goal was to create a high-quality finish that complemented the surrounding space.
Our Solution
Our team began by preparing and pouring two new 4,000 PSI concrete slabs.
The first slab measured approximately 12 feet by 12 feet and was installed for the main pool house area. The second slab measured approximately 4 feet by 8 feet and was poured for the pool house bathroom.
After the concrete was poured, we carefully leveled and finished the surfaces to create a smooth foundation. The slabs were then allowed to cure properly to achieve maximum strength and durability.
Once the curing process was complete, we returned to begin the polishing phase. Using professional grinding equipment and multiple levels of diamond abrasives, we gradually refined the concrete surface.
To further strengthen the floor, we applied a concrete densifier. This treatment penetrates deep into the concrete and hardens the surface from within, increasing durability and improving long-term performance.
After the densifier had cured, we continued polishing the floor using progressively finer grinding pads, working all the way up to a 1000-grit finish. This process transformed the concrete into a smooth, glossy surface with a clean and modern appearance.
The Result
The completed floors gave the new pool house a bright, polished, and upscale look. The glossy finish reflects light beautifully while maintaining the strength and durability that concrete is known for.
The homeowner now has a durable flooring system that is easy to maintain, resistant to wear, and perfectly suited for a poolside environment.
The new polished concrete floors provide both beauty and functionality, helping complete the outdoor living space while adding long-term value to the property.
Why Homeowners Choose Polished Concrete
