Problem
A homeowner in Bellmore was dealing with uneven temperatures in different parts of the home. The girl’s bedroom felt cold in winter and too warm in summer. The living room had similar issues, making it uncomfortable to spend time there. The hair salon room inside the home also had poor temperature control, which affected both comfort and daily use.
The main issue was poor insulation inside the exterior walls. These walls did not have enough insulation to hold heat during winter or block heat during summer. There were also gaps inside the wall cavities that allowed air to move freely. This caused energy loss and higher utility bills.
The homeowner wanted a solution that would improve comfort in all three areas without removing walls or causing major disruption inside the home.
Solution
The team at Zavza Seal provided a clean and effective insulation solution by working from the exterior walls. This method allowed us to upgrade the insulation without damaging the interior finishes.
We carefully drilled small access holes into the exterior walls of the girl’s bedroom, living room, and hair salon room. These holes allowed us to insert hoses from our equipment directly into the wall cavities.
For the hair salon room, we used a different approach. Since it shares a wall with the garage, we performed the work from the garage side. This helped avoid any damage to the finished interior walls of the salon area.
Once access was ready, we installed dense packed cellulose insulation into all wall cavities. This method fills the space tightly and blocks airflow inside the walls. The insulation was applied to achieve an R value of 30, which greatly improves energy efficiency and indoor comfort.
After the insulation was installed, we patched and sealed all access holes carefully. The surface was restored to maintain a clean and finished look. Additional finishing work such as taping, sanding, and painting was also completed where needed, especially in the hair salon room where multiple patched areas required a smooth final finish.
The insulation used in this project is environmentally friendly and safe for indoor use. It is fire resistant and meets Class 1 fire rating standards. It also helps reduce outside noise and provides resistance to moisture. This creates a more comfortable and healthier living space.
Result
After the project was completed, the temperature inside the home became much more balanced. The girl’s bedroom, living room, and hair salon room all felt more comfortable throughout the year.
The homeowner noticed a reduction in energy usage because the heating and cooling systems no longer had to work as hard. The improved insulation also helped reduce outside noise, creating a quieter indoor environment.
This project shows how upgrading wall insulation can make a big difference without major construction. By using the right method and materials, Zavza Seal delivered a simple and effective solution that improved both comfort and efficiency.
