Get to know Hicksville 11802
The Hicksville neighborhood is located in the Town of Oyster Bay, and it is part of the United States Census Bureau’s Nassau County District 2. Europeans first settled in the area in 1648 when a Dutchman named Jan de Wit bought land from the Siwanoy Indians.
In 1802, Hicksville was incorporated as a village, but it wasn’t until 1885 that it became a town. Hicksville became known as a great place to live on Long Island.

The town has several historic sites worth visiting; it also has a thriving arts community with many galleries and studios located throughout the town center.
Hicksville has two major shopping centers: The Long Island Mall and Roosevelt Field mall. Both malls offer everything from clothing stores to restaurants and even movie theaters!
Hicksville is a great place to live because it’s close enough to NYC but far enough away from all the hustle and bustle. The quaint neighborhood has a lot of shops and restaurants that are great for shopping or dining out. Many parks are good for families with small children. There are plenty of schools in the area for kids who want to attend public school or private school.
